The exposed, raw structure of corten steel reacts to the elements visually and personifies the experience of existence and aging. No distracting forms stray away from an honest and aligned order. Guests can choose to practice stillness or movement. In the meditation loft, ascended among the treetops, they experience a 360 degree ribbon window at eye level while seated. In the main space below, solid walls create a nest of activity while above aluminum tubes capped with glass emerge from the ceiling. Both a light installation and cooling chimney, these tubes harness the breeze and regulate the elements to keep the hut cool and dry. Lines and shadows guide the eyes upwards as the spirits are lifted. The OM home is cozy yet breezy, private yet public, full of safely guarded light, playful and stoic all at once.
